My Approach
At the heart of my coaching practice is a belief that healing and self-advocacy grow through honest storytelling and community connection. I work with survivors and groups by blending compassion, creativity, and practical strategy — turning lived experience into language that can be shared, witnessed, and acted on.
Through individual sessions, reflection circles, and visual practices, I create spaces where voices are honored, resilience is recognized, and advocacy becomes something carried by a community rather than a single person. When stories are lifted together, they build the kind of steady support that helps people move through what they are facing.
About Me
I am a 72-year-old woman, a 28-year cancer survivor with multiple recurrences and multiple surgeries behind me. That history is what brought me to this work, and what has kept me in it.
For the past 24 years I have worked alongside cancer patients — first as a patient counselor and patient navigator for about 15 years, then through programs and lectures on cancer awareness, early detection, and prevention, and through participating in screening clinics across my community. Every patient is different, and the work has always been to meet each person and their needs individually.
In 2011 I founded the SMARA Cancer Support Group, which is still active today. SMARA offers support in many forms depending on what our members need — practical, emotional, educational, and community-based. In 2024 I began the Cancer Wellness Coaching Course and completed it in 2025, formalizing in credential what I had been practicing for decades.
