My Approach
My coaching approach is whole-person, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-informed survivorship care. I help survivors and caregivers move from simply receiving recommendations to actually integrating supportive practices into daily life.
Rather than giving advice or "fixing," I partner with clients to clarify what matters most to them, identify their current capacity, and develop practical, sustainable steps that build confidence and self-efficacy over time. My work draws on integrative cancer coaching, positive psychology, mindfulness, and mind-body principles — with sensitivity to the physical, emotional, and existential impact of cancer.
Philosophically, I believe people are not broken. They are navigating an unfamiliar landscape. My role is to serve as a steady guide who helps clients rediscover their inner compass, mobilize their existing strengths, and create a personally meaningful path forward during and after cancer. The focus is not dramatic transformation, but grounded progress, resilience, and the ability to live well alongside uncertainty.
About Me
Wayne Mylin is an integrative cancer coach and shiatsu therapist with over 40 years of experience supporting people through serious health challenges and life transitions. For two decades, he provided integrative wellness services within a major academic cancer center, working closely with survivors and caregivers across the cancer journey.
Wayne specializes in helping survivors and caregivers rebuild stability, confidence, and quality of life after diagnosis and treatment, by translating supportive care recommendations into realistic, sustainable daily practices.
He is the founder of My Best Life Coaching and creator of The Second Trail, a life navigation-based survivorship support program that addresses the often-overlooked care gaps between medical treatment and living well afterward. Wayne's work integrates evidence-informed coaching, mind-body principles, and compassionate, practical guidance to help people move forward with clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of direction.
